Common Questions

Does the child know they are being monitored?+
Yes. The Child App shows a persistent notification that SafeSphere protection is active. Transparency is intentional to promote trust between parents and children.
What happens if the child's phone loses internet?+
Background services are resilient. Location updates resume automatically once connectivity is restored. The last known location is cached locally.
Can I monitor multiple children?+
Yes. The Parent App supports multiple child devices. Each child is paired individually, and you can switch between them on the dashboard with a single tap.
How does the SOS feature work?+
The child presses the power button 4 times within 3 seconds. A 3-second countdown begins (cancel window), then SOS triggers — vibrating the device, sending the parent a push notification with GPS coordinates, and logging the event.
Is location data shared with third parties?+
No. All data is stored exclusively in your private Firebase project which you own and control. Nothing is shared with any third parties.
Which Android version is required?+
SafeSphere requires Android 8.0 (Oreo) or higher. It has been tested on Android 14 and Android 17 (Pixel 7a).
